Tips straight from our experts!
Our team can help you solve any problems you might have with your attic and we offer some good advice on the matter, too! Check out our tips below.
Be proactive and prevent a rat infestation in your attic
The most obvious way to prevent rats from entering your home is to seal off any access to it, so start by fixing holes as small as a ¼ inch. Place traps both inside your home and around it, and check them regularly. Clean up after every meal and don’t leave food lying around. Keep compost bins and bird feeders as far away from the house as possible, and use a garbage can with a tight lid.
Keep your crawl space clean
The crawl space under your home should not be ignored. Yes, it can be a convenient place to store things, but leaks, dust, dirt, dust, and even mold should not be allowed to become entrenched there or you may be in for some problems. Have our specialists check the area before you begin experiencing health problems from poor air quality or possible damages to your foundation from unexpected water intrusion. Our specialists will make sure your crawl space stays clean and doesn't pose a health hazard to you or your family.
Make sure your attic insulation is installed properly
In order to do its job, the insulation must be installed properly. If the vapor barrier on insulation is facing up, you should cut small slits in it in order to allow moisture to escape. If moisture has no way out of the insulation, it can rot the wood framing or cause mold growth.
